RenewSkin Co Editorial Policy
Purpose
The company, RenewSkin Co, is dedicated to providing website visitors with the most up-to-date news and information in the skincare, beauty, and wellness industries. The company aims to ensure that research and research-based expertise reaches key audiences, positively influencing decision-making and outcomes on an international scale.
We have found blogs are one way – but certainly not the only way – to help achieve this. But they should be viewed as an initial output to facilitate further engagement and stimulate interest, rather than an end in themselves.
When used in conjunction with other tools, such as media relations, events, and targeted stakeholder communications, at the right time, they can bring about positive outcomes for visitors wanting to improve their complexion and overall health.
For this reason, we ask any authors interested in working with RenewSkin Co to discuss their reasons for writing a blog – and their desired outcomes - with us in the first instance.
RenewSkin Co aims to;
- Promote a wider understanding and awareness of the skincare, beauty, and wellness industries, and trends pertaining to these industries worldwide.
- Facilitate the sharing and exchange of knowledge and expertise between our skincare experts and the general public.
- Provide a shop window and initial touchpoint for audiences to engage further with our topics and products.
In addition to the above, writing for our blogs can provide a useful ‘first experience’ for those new to, or inexperienced in, writing about the skincare, beauty, and wellness niches. This supports our ambitions to support young and new individuals, who are passionate or working in these industries, in developing effective content-writing skills. While we do provide writing opportunities to individuals, all blogs published must still adhere to the key principles below.
Note:
All publications on this website are published without any subscription, registration, or access fees required from the user. Users are allowed to read, search, and link to all pages on the RenewSkin Co website. Users are not allowed to duplicate, republish, or download the content on the RenewSkin Co website.
Key Principles
- Contact us before writing a blog. Researchers intending to write and submit a blog should speak to us first about the central idea/argument/angle. With this information, we can offer expert guidance and support, and discuss potential publishing options. This will help avoid a drawn-out editing process that can result from unsolicited submissions that don’t meet our requirements, which can cause frustration. We undertake to respond to all inquiries about potential blogs within seven working days.
- Blogs must meet our word count requirements. We choose the word count for our blogs using a very strict set of guidelines. Each blog must meet our recommended word count. We will provide this information upon agreement of the partnership.
- We cannot guarantee to accept or publish unexpected, unsolicited blogs. While we will still review them (we aim to do this within 10 working days), due to the workload across the team, we are increasingly unlikely to be able to publish unsolicited blogs on demand with no or little notice.
- Blogs should not be written with the intent to promote external entities. Blogs written for RenewSkin Co should aim to promote only RenewSkin Co products. Any blog posts designed to promote competitors or unrelated products will not be accepted without prior notice or review.
What Type of Blogs Do We Want?
We aim to publish blogs that address pain points or topics within the skincare, beauty, and wellness niches. We want engaging, easy-to-read blogs that provide research-based insights on the international skincare, beauty, and wellness industries. These blogs should link to our key products and should meet our recommended word count.
We will draw primarily on the insights of our internal writing team but are open to idea/topic submissions from external sources where appropriate.
Contributions should not take the form of academic papers. Nor should they simply be a description of everything that is wrong with a specific product or topic. Blogs should address pain points, highlight issues, and provide practical solutions to these issues.
It is expected that posts will contain some degree of opinion, but views expressed and claims made must link back to relevant research and evidence.
What Makes a Good Skincare, Beauty, or Wellness Blog Post?
The best posts typically have the following elements:
- Relevance – A clear link to a current skincare, beauty, or wellness issue/pain point or trend; or a comparison article, highlighting RenewSkin Co products as the leading skincare transformation programs.
- Research – RenewSkin Co blog posts should be backed by evidence. We ask that writers backup all claims with links to reputable sources. All references should be marked with numbers within the text and links to references should be provided at the bottom of the piece of content.
- Relaxed, friendly style – Content should be written in a casual, friendly style. We ask that the style of writing be in line with existing content on the website and that all pieces be written for our target audience.
Blogs not suitable for RenewSkin Co
- Blogs based mainly on personal experience or peripheral interests, rather than hard facts
- Blogs that have no relevance to the skincare, beauty, or wellness industries
- Blogs that simply describe the problem or criticise current trends or products, but do not discuss potential solutions to the topic in question
- Blogs that are written with the intent to send backlinks to competitors or entities irrelevant to RenewSkin Co
- Blogs that have no relevance to RenewSkin Co products
Submission Process
Before submitting a new piece of content to RenewSkin Co, please ensure that the proposed blog topic has been approved by a member of our team in writing. Assuming that an initial discussion of the proposed blog has taken place (see Key Principles above), when the initial draft is sent, it will be acknowledged by a member of the RenewSkin Co team within seven working days.
Articles submitted will be reviewed by members of the team, who may edit the piece to enhance readability to the blog’s wider audience.
These edits may include:
- Shortening or lengthening of text
- Removal of excessive jargon or overly complex language that might confuse the reader
- Changes to the title of the piece
- The addition of specific keywords and phrases that can work towards enhancing RenewSkin Co’s marketing efforts
- Re-ordering of content to bring the main arguments to the top of the piece
- The addition of paragraphs relating to RenewSkin Co products or Transformation Programs
- The addition of relevant images or graphics
Where edits are made, the final version will be sent back to the author for approval. Occasionally, further information may be requested. Once you have submitted a post, please ensure you are available in the proceeding 72 hours to respond to suggested edits and suggestions that are sent to you by the RenewSkin Co team.
Once articles are published, we are very happy to make further edits should the author deem them to be necessary. However, these must first be approved by the editorial team at RenewSkin Co.
Further Consultation
Where there is any concern about the content of a blog submitted, and/or whether it falls within the scope of RenewSkin Co’s remit, publication may be delayed to seek further advice from the RenewSkin Co Senior Leadership Team.
It may also sometimes be necessary to consult with our product manufacturers if the topic pertains to specific ingredients or certifications.
If this happens, and publication is likely to be delayed, the author(s) will be informed.
Occasionally, it may not be possible to agree on a final version of a blog that an author is happy with, and which meets our requirements outlined in the Editorial Policy. In these instances, we will advise authors on how articles could be adjusted to meet our criteria.
Promoting Your Published Blog
RenewSkin Co may promote your blog should we find that it adds value to our marketing efforts. However, experience tells us that greater reach is achieved when the author also promotes the blog through their own channels and asks and encourages key people in their networks to do the same.
Timeframes
One of the purposes of having an initial discussion with a member of the RenewSkin Co team before writing a blog is to discuss a publication date that suits both parties and, importantly, helps maximise its reach.
Where this process has been followed and a specific publication date has been agreed upon, we will always endeavour to the best of our ability to ensure a blog goes live on this date and that it is adequately promoted via our channels.
However, there may be some occasions where this is not possible due to competing and unforeseen demands and priorities within the RenewSkin Co team. Where this is the case, we will communicate this to the author(s).
While we do not encourage the unsolicited submission of blogs that have not been discussed with someone in the team, and we cannot guarantee to publish them in any form, we will endeavour to assess and respond to these within 10 working days.
Republishing policy
We do not allow republishing of articles by third parties. Any third parties republishing content from the RenewSkin Co website will be sent a cease and desist letter to remove the piece of content in question. Should the content not be removed upon request, the RenewSkin Co team will take legal action against the third party who is illegally republishing our content.
Quality Standards
RenewSkin Co strives to uphold the highest research, ethical, and quality standards for the content that we receive and publish, regardless of its format. Our marketing and editorial teams monitor the adherence to these standards of all parties involved, including the Authors and the Editors. If we suspect any breach of research or ethical standards or any other type of misconduct at any stage of the publishing process, we will remove the content from our website until further investigation has taken place. If the suspicion is confirmed, the content will be removed from the website entirely.
